5 Business Mistakes I've made

I look back at photos of when I was 18 and I had VERY platinum hair, VERY orange fake tanned skin, my cleavage decided it liked to be on show quite often and my dresses where a little shorter than I care to admit.

We all have versions of ourselves that we cringe about BUT we accept them, laugh it off and acknowledge how far we have come.

The same applies in business - mistakes are made (often) and we grow from them.

Some of mine over the past few years:

  1. I let perfectionism both stop me from progressing AND cost me a crap load of money because I wanted every detail to be perfect before I truly understood my customer (past biz). Such a time waster and the details I obsessed about didn't change a sale.

  2. Worked every weekend - stupid & exhausting mistake that wasn't productive, didn't deliver results and left me a hot mess.

  3. Not jumping on a video to meet a client before I quoted a project - I would hugely undervalue a project often and also now helps me ensure we are a good fit.

  4. Not outsourcing sooner - this is still a work in progress mistake to be honest. I have outsourced and felt so much ease and gratitude but then I'll move onto a new project and get so tied up I forget to seek support.

  5. Saying yes more than no - obvious one I think many of us can relate to.

  6. (an extra mistake for good measure) - Not growing my EDM list sooner and harnessing it to really connect.
