6 tips to increase your email marketing open rates

Email marketing should be a huge part of your marketing efforts. Here’s 6 quick tips to make it those email open rates soar.

I cannot stress this enough… focus as a priority on serving your customers on email rather than on social!

Why…? Because you control the dialogue on email (not the algorithm) for a start and these magic (potential) customers have actively chosen to give you their information aka.. they love what you’re about and want to know/hear more. You aren’t fighting for attention in a noisy room hoping for someone to notice but instead you’re delivering a crafted, thoughtful and purposeful value direct to their eyes.

If your Instagram got stolen today (this happens a lot!) then you’ve literally lost hundreds, if not thousands of followers instantly with no way to communicate with them.

6 quick fire tips for opening that email goodness:

1.Quality over quantity

Opt for a small albeit mighty email list packed with engaged customers. Email scrub the crap so you’re only left with those who’s inboxes love your emails. The more people love it the more email providers like Gmail will filter them to your advantage not loose them in Spam or social folders.

2.Serve with value when it comes to email marketing

Land in their inbox with value– serve THEM not your ego. You can still do this easily with retail by curating your products to help them make decisions that help them e.g “Christmas gifts for him”, “get organised this 2022”. Always make sure there’s something in it for them.

3.  Show up with organised and clear communication

Don’t do some long winded email – keep it juicy and clearly ask what you want from them and how to do it. E.g if you want to sell have a “buy now” button, want them to hop on over to your blog  - clear button to “read more”, want them to sign up for your course “apply now”.

4. Personalise your welcome and monthly emails

Most email providers offer the option to use the subscribers name  - do it! Even through consciously clients know it’s not just for them but subconsciously they will feel the connection and pay attention more.

5.Make it easy for them to leave

No one likes a breakup so don’t drag it out and make it complicated for them to unsubscribe.

6. Work on captivating headings for higher open rates

You wouldn’t create an amazing book and slap together a crap heading. Spend time crafting something enticing that makes them want to open.
