Email newsletter content ideas

Show value in your email marketing

Following on from the previous post about the importance of email marketing let’s dive straight into some ideas on ways to provide value:

✹ Give the cliff notes version and link back to a juicy blog post on your website

✹ Give them a seasonal recipe

✹ Share a tip that’s easy to do in 5 mins but will have big impact

✹ Promote another complimentary brand you love in a similar industry – recommending via partner marketing will increase trust in you as an authority and it’s just a damn nice thing to do.

✹Share an exclusive offer just for your email list

✹Give them a special resource that is really valuable to them – see tip 3 – simple to adopt but high impact

✹ Entice them over to join another email list specifically for selling your latest offering – that way you don’t need to overwhelm the window shoppers while your deep in selling emails.

✹ For retail curate groups of products for specific purposes “getting organised”, “living room furnishings” “hottest label to land”

✹ Ask questions – genuinely find ways to interact and connect.

✹ Use numbers and stats – “Top 5 tips to …”, “8 ways to…”, “did you know that 56% of… etc

✹ Share case studies or identify with a common problem or question you get often and provide the solution

✹ Gift guides or local guides – something they want to save for later

✹ Share interviews from inspiring people or experts

✹ Quick how-to videos for those who prefer visual content

✹ For more advanced email marketing tactics – use workflows to determine next moves e.g “Amy clicks on button” to read more about a course and therefore she goes into another workflow to receive another series of emails selling more directly

We want them to feel nurtured, we want them to know what to expect for the most part so they look forward to it and it deepens brand connection. We want to keep it juicy and valuable and last but not least we want mix things up every now and then just to add some attention sparking action if they got a little to comfortable.
